of the Deceased Woman.
* Here is what I know of these items... I found the box in with a box of assorted estate items won some time ago at an auction. I had opened the box to check the condition of the shoes but did not take them out. Then, when I finally took the shoes out to take pics for this listing, I found the
Memorial Medal
buried inside.
* I am left to assume--but am not 100% certain--that this is a
"matching pair"
of items; with the person who wore the shoes also memorialized on the medal.
* Note that the
shoes do not perfectly match the box
description; they are not blue and appear to be a different model number. However, they clearly are from the same company/manufacturer.
* From what I found online, The
Practical Burial Footwear Company
was based in
Columbus, OH
and was in business from the
late
1800s
to about
1960
. I am guessing that these are from the
latter part

on the shoes; for easy

... I do not know the composition of the medal... It measures

and feels rather heavy for its size. It weighs

CONDITION:
USED...
BOX
is in functional order with some staining/discoloration and a few nicks and dings.
SHOES
are in "
Like New
" shape; if they were "used" there are no signs of wear. There is some White-Out with writing on the bottom on each shoe; I do not know if this is something that came on the shoes when new or if it was added on later.
MEDAL
shows some mild discoloration with the pinning mechanism in fine working order.
