I’m offering today one of my prized dolls from the turn of the century. She is a large baby doll with bisque head, stationary green glass eyes and soft body with composition arms and legs.
Oh my goodness, wait till you see this doll in person. She is truly a beautiful doll and hard to believe she is from the turn of the century. I will start at the top of the doll and work my way down so as not to omit anything in my description. Starting at the top of her head, she is wearing a beautiful vintage red mohair baby wig which frames her face beautifully. Her head is painted red, but I wanted to add the red baby wig to give her additional personality. The wig is a vintage wig, but is new and never been worn by another doll. She is wearing a vintage beige cotton crochet bonnet with sage green satin ribbon which ties into a bow around her neck. The crochet bonnet matches her vintage silk dress. As you go down to her face, she has beautiful light red hand painted eyebrows to accent her beautiful green stationary eyes. She has a dainty little nose with open nostrils for realism which flows down to her rose bud shape lips which are wide open. Her lips are dark peachy pink color which blends beautifully with her pink cheeks and her beautiful bright eyes. Her bisque head is hallmarked: "A.M. 351, Made in Germany".
She is wearing a gorgeous vintage hand crochet and silk dress which I've been saving for the perfect baby doll. The bodice is sage green cotton crochet with high waist bodice and short sleeves. The sleeves come down to her elbows and have a different pattern than the bodice does. As you go around to the back side, there are three white pearl buttons which keeps the dress securely on the doll. There is a sage green crochet ruffle at the bottom of the bodice with the same crochet pattern as on the arms. The sage green satin ribbon goes around to the back of the bodice and ties into a lovely bow with streamers hanging down the back side. The overlay of the skirt is soft beige tulle netting. Under the tulle netting is beige silk which allows the dress to flow beautifully down the body of the dolly. Under the silk dress, she is wearing beige bloomers trimmed with extra wide gathered lace. On her sweet composition feet, she is wearing off-white crochet booties with beige cotton socks. Your precious doll will come with her very own soft plush lamb to keep her company.
All my dolls are truly loved and cared for as though they were my children. Their clothes are either original to the doll, made by me, I've tried finding doll clothing from the same era as the doll or find clothing which match the personality of the doll. We do not smoke and I try very hard to keep a tidy clean home free of dust and odor. My dolls are clean and most of the time look as though they did when they were sold new. Depending on how old they are, I do try to be honest in detailing if some of the dolls have bruises, missing toes or fingers or other issues, but that doesn't mean they aren't worth having; for each one is like children.....they are all beautiful in their mothers eyes. If I've missed something it would never be intentional.
SIZE:
This is a large Antique Bisque Doll measuring approximately 21" tall. Her soft plush baby lamb is approximately 8" tall.
CONDITION:
The bisque on this antique doll is absolutely beautiful. Her eyes came to me broken, so I added some of my antique eyes and made them stationary. It's so difficult to mail these old dolls when their eyes are moving inside their heads. They come loose and shatter during the shipping, so I just make them stationary for safe travel. She is free of chips, cracks or breaks. Her mohair wig is vintage, but has never been worn by another doll. Her dress is vintage and is a designer dress from the early 80's era. Her body is a bit darkened from time, but does not have any odors or smells to it. There is wear to the composition, but please remember, this doll is around 100 years old and will not be perfect. I think she is in what I would consider good condition for her age. Any how can you not adore that precious face?!
Please view complete set of photos for thorough description. I hope you can take a few minutes to look at my other dolls. God bless you. Connie
