    Description

During Victorian times, it was customary to place a silver or silverplated plaque or plate that was engraved with the name, dates of birth and death of the person being buried.  Many times, these were removed prior to burial and kept by the family as a keepsake.
We are offering a set of 5 silverplated casket plaques from the same Northern Vermont family.  The dates of death range from 1848 to 1858 and include a father, mother and 3 daughters.  These plates were acquired at an auction in Vermont by the person from whom we bought them.  A truly unique opportunity for a serious collector or anyone interested in Vermont geneology.  Included are:
Wm Lathrop Dec 17 1848 Aged 45 Yrs
Louisa Lathrop Oct 8 1857 Aged 45 Yrs
    Caroline L. Lathrop Dec 21 1855 Aged 18 Yrs 9 Mos
    M Jane Lathrop Sept 2 1856 Aged 24 Yrs
    Julia C Lathrop Oct 8 1858 Aged 15 Yrs
    Condition:
They are in overall very good condition with normal scratches and wear for silverplate that is 163 - 173 years old.  Please see the photos and feel free to ask any questions.
