Handsome fold-out 1962 Shell Oil Company road map of Seattle, printed more than 55 years ago.
This map opens to 38" x 18" and has great detail on old street and highway alignments, including the proposed re-routing of U.S. Route 99 through South Park and construction in progress on the Evergreen Point Floating Bridge. The cartography is by H.M. Gousha.
The map also shows the site of the 1962 Seattle World's Fair.
The coverage area extends from Edmonds to Normandy Park, east to Lake Sammamish, including Renton, Bellevue, Tukwila, and Redmond.
The map was distributed by Shell in 1962 and is dated in the legend. The code number in the lower margin is 6-JJ.
The cover photo shows Belvidere Park and Elliott Bay with totem pole.
